Chapter 5
He Taught Me

It took a while for me to see, that God does love me,
But He answered my prayers one night as I was down on my knees.
He heard my cry and saw my tears, He gradually took away my fears.
So this is what He's told me, over time in prayer.
And this is what Jesus said - He who has an ear, let him hear...
He's taught me that I have talents, not to bury them in shame.
He's taught me that if I'm hurting, He will take away the pain.
He's taught me about love, and what it's like to heal.
He's taught me that He lives, no matter what, He's real.
He's told me not to worry, It's his battle to fight.
He's told me that He's holding me, when I feel fear in the night.
He's told me He'll protect me as long as I heed his words.
He's said He's my deliverer, His mercy breaks any curse.
He's said that He will guide me in all paths that are straight.
He's teaching me patience - that sometimes I have to wait.
He's teaching me endurance, and how to handle strife.
He's teaching me by his word to live a better life.
He taught me to handle money, with more care and thought.
He makes me think twice about the worldly things I've brought.
He's made my heart feel, for children who are not safe.
For people that are homeless, for people without faith.
The world seems so sad and they don't know there's a light!
They dont understand that Jesus can win the fight.
He's taught me to trust him, it's up to him you see.
Because He's my personal Saviour, He'll keep the peace for me.
I just want to let him touch His world through me.
Tell people about his Heaven and that there's life eternally.
So grant me the strength Lord, to use my lips today,
To spread the news of Jesus, to bring salvation their way!
