LAST DIP

THE DORSAL FIN
THAT'S ALL I SAW
A FLASH OF GREY
AND THEN IT TORE
MY LEGS ARE FROM
MY THRASHING BUM
AT THAT POINT BOTH
MY ARMS WENT NUMB.

I TRIED TO SCREAM
BUT FOUND NO TONGUE
WAS THEN I SAW IT FLOAT BY
WITH MY LUNG.

MY TOES LIKE STARS
CIRCLED MY HEAD
I'D LOST IT FOR SURE
ALL MY SEA CRED.

I'M SPINNING DOWN
WITH THIS AWFUL DREAD
OH WHAT'S TO BECOME OF ME
ON THE BLACK SEA BED.
