Chapter 34
Smiles Warm the Soul

In the afternoon I wrote some more sand signs on the beach. Later during that beach walk a woman smiled a lovely smile when I said hello to her. That made me think of two new signs. So I carved in huge letters facing the road - SMILES WARM THE SOUL. (When I say big, in this case the letters were each about 5 metres long. This is my standard size.) Several tried to guess what I was writing while I was doing it, then smiled! The woman who had smiled at me had since turned round and was coming back along the beach past me. I said to her, "You inspired this sign." She didn't hear what I was saying so came over. I repeated the statement and said, "I draw lots of signs on the beach but you inspired this one by your smile. Thank you." She smiled again and did a flourishing bow, then walked on with lots more smiles. I pray the Lord gives her a happy night. Much further along the beach opposite where quite a few cars park daily, I wrote one final one for the day - A GOOD FRIEND IS A GEM. There have been lots of large seagulls feathers washed in the past 2 days so I've put a feather as the fullstop in every sign. A small sign I wrote with 7 feathers all in a row on top of the sign just said BIRDS OF A FEATHER...

I hope with humour, kindness and truth that some will reach out to Jesus.
