Chapter 21
The Carpenter

Often when I’m out on the streets, I don’t know who the Lord will lead me to but I believe He will do it. So I just start walking. I saw a carpenter take a break from renovating a shop in a shopping mall in Tawa. By and by I asked him if he was a Christian. No, he wasn’t and he didn’t have time for that sort of thing. Then I couldn’t pray for him to believe? No, I couldn’t. So I changed the subject and asked about his work. Later he told me about a personal crisis in his family. At the end I tried again & said "I’d love to be able to pray for you. Would you take this tract away & read it?" By now he realised I cared about him. He changed his mind and agreed to read it. He told me his name so I could pray for him. If I’d given up earlier, I’d have lost this later opportunity.
