I love this! You have an incredible handle on the English language and such a grace to your storytelling. It's really refreshing. I only have one small critique on this chapter, when you're telling the story of the bank robbery, you mentioned the robber was shot four times and then escorted to jail. Don't you think it more likely that he would have a police escort to the hospital?

Nothing else really caught my attention as being out of place. Your flow is very nice, and the pacing is good with his flashbacks and memories - it gives the reader all the needed history, but not all at once, so it isn't boring.

Very, very well done!

decent but it's a little too much with ever other word being a "big word" don't mean to sound rude but it's like you're trying "too hard" to be smart? If that makes sense.
