Solid opening however I do fall into the same category of some of the other reviewers in that having the small band be an elf, dwarf and man does come across as unoriginal. However there is still plenty of possibility there and I have only read the one chapter so what do I know?

PS - If you fancy reading the first few chapters of my new book I would be very grateful

This is too Lord of the Ringsish. I love Lord of the Rings. I really do, but try and have different characters, not a man and dwarf and an elf. It's way too similar. But you have an ok writing style, just you need to come up with a different story and characters. P.S. Check out my book The Jewels of Neora, I think you would like it.

I agree with phoenix2. Also the general premise is far too Lord of the Rings-like for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I love LOTR, but you need to come up with your own things.

(PS: Care to read my book?)

Elves, Dwarves, and Orcs are too alike to Lord of the Rings. Especially the rogue human. The first thing I thought when I saw that was "He read Lord of the Rings".
